Pernambuco/Eurospruce
This is my standard JB-16 with a little twist; the disparity between
the two scale extremes is just 1/4", half my normal 1/2". The Pernambuco I used for this one is as close to quarter sawn as I can imagine a tree as small as Pernambuco can produce.
In fact, better than that! The tee is said to grow to only 8" in diameter, and this back in that wide, yet cut from the center out.
The had to be a giant among its type. Or not Pernambuco. . . but it passed the standard test with flying colors, that is to say
blush red dye was easily produced from it, which the wannabe's cannot do.
