Magnolia/Catalpa
#2330713
I had such good luck a couple of years ago with my all-Catalpa OM that
I thought I'd try one this year with a Catalpa top on another
alternative tonewood . I chose Magnolia for aesthetic reason, because I
think it looks fantastic with the Catalpa. It doesn't hurt that the
Magnolia happens to be absolutely perfectly quartered and have increble
medulary display to prove it. The Catalpa was cut by myself from an
architectureal tree in Mill Valley CA, and the Magnolia was salvaged
from a barn in New Hampshire said to built 160 years ago. WRX
means I removed some of the bells and whistles in order to make the
guitar more affordable.
