I took some risks with this one. I have always been disappointed with Maple flat-tops as they sound boxy to me, plenty of mid-range but failing to produce both focused bass and sparkling treble. And I have never really liked any Redwood guitars I've heard as they are all at the ends, impressive bass and plenty of treble (too much!) but utterly failing to impress me with warmth or friendliness. Opposites attract, so they say, so I thought I'd give it a try. If you can make it to Montreal or Healdsburg this year, tell me what you think of this one!
